THE HEART OF A PARISH IS THE EUCHARIST, BUT THE PARISH FAMILY IS THE BODY THAT MAKES IT A UNIQUE AND VIBRANT COMMUNITY WITH AN EXCITING PARISH LIFE. OUR PARISH OFFERS A VARIETY OF WAYS TO BE PART OF THAT COMMUNAL FAMILY IN ADDITION TO THE CELEBRATION OF THE SACRAMENTS.
Faith formation is a vital element of the Catholic life as we grow in knowledge and understanding of our faith in Jesus Christ and the Church he gave us. A deeper understanding can lead to a more intimate relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and through the Trinity to the Church and our family, friends, neighbors, parish, and community. Such faith formation is not just for children, but for all of us as we grow as Catholics. Our parish has many opportunities for faith formation that we encourage you to explore.
Another way to participate in our parish life are the various parish ministries, including liturgical ministries, such as choir member, lector, altar server, and Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist; social justice ministries, such as bringing the Eucharist to the homebound, serving those in need, such as youth ministry, men's and women's groups, faith formation, to name just a few. God calls us to use our gifts and talents to glorify Him and make life better for other people. Please prayerfully consider these opportunities for getting involved in ministry. And if you have an idea for a new parish ministry, please contact us.
With so many ways to be part of parish life, you'll want to stay informed by regularly reading parish news as it's posted on the website, downloading the weekly bulletin if you've misplaced the one you received at Mass, and checking the parish calendar.
Our parish has a rich history in our town, being founded by people who trusted in the Lord and gathered together under the leadership of the Archbishop of Boston. Who we are today is based on the who we were yesterday. Find out more about our spiritual forefathers as you read the history of our parish.
We hope you'll also enjoy viewing photos of our parish, including some of the many enjoyable events and programs we've had over the years.
St. Elizabeth Parish was founded March 22, 1947. The present church we worship in was dedicated June 25, 1964.
Our mission is to give witness to the Kingdom of God on earth, to support one another, and to strive for a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. As a community of faith, we welcome all to participate in living out the Gospel message of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. We pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit to serve better the Lord and one another.

The Roman Catholic Parish of St. Mary of the Hills, founded in 1931, is an archdiocesan parish located just south of Boston in Milton, MA. The parish is a multi-ethnic, socially, culturally, and educationally diverse faith community.
In 1931 to accommodate and serve the increasing number of Catholics in the Milton area, a new parish was established at the directive of William Cardinal O’Connell, Archbishop of Boston. The name St. Mary of the Hills was suggested by the sister of the first pastor, Rev. Richard S. Millard, due to the proximity of the Blue Hills. The name was adopted by an early meeting of parishioners by a vote of 379-I, although it is not known who cast the lone dissenting vote.
The first Masses were celebrated in Blue Hills Hall until the parish completed and paid for a basement church by 1934. Through vigorous fundraising and the generosity of parishioners, the parish built the rectory in 1935 and dedicated the upper church in 1949. A 16-room school and convent were added in 1958. Now approaching 1,000 families and under the stewardship of its seventh pastor, Rev. Arthur F. Wright, St. Mary of the Hills continues to thrive and grow in both size and diversity.
